Everything grows at its own pace.

The HMS Team is guided by Khuloud Solomon, the school’s founder and an accredited Montessori teacher with 16 years of experience.

HMS is a pre-school for children ages 2 to 6. Guided by the Montessori philosophy, we are dedicated to fostering independence, social skills, emotional well-being, and the love of learning. Our classroom is a full-fledged Montessori environment that also offers Spanish lessons, gardening, Art, Music education and more. We believe in the connection between the children and their teachers and friends, therefore our single classroom is low ratio with 25 or less children and 3 teachers in one multi-age class.

We believe in Simplicity for parents, and we are on a Mission in our community.

HMS is open from 8:00 am till 6:00 pm five days a week. We have a 10.5 month school year, closed in July so that our teachers can rejuvenate. We generally follow AISD’s schedule for holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years and Spring Break.

Highland Montessori School is a Texas non-profit corporation, 501(c )(3) status approved in July 2014. We dedicate our school’s revenue to enrich our school program through teacher retention and quality Montessori materials. HMS will happily accept donations from the public to help us (1) gain the capital necessary to acquire/build our own building and (2) assist families who cannot afford private pre-school tuition. Our Board of Directors consists of Chloe Love (President), Don Simoneaux (Treasurer), and Anna Francis (Secretary).

Highland Montessori School admits students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic programs, or other school-administrated programs.
