Bugs

It’s been a rainy spring and the bugs that come out have their blessings and challenges. The blessing is that many of our students, especially the older ones, LOVE finding bugs (mostly roll-pollies) and are so curious to find more and investigate when they find new ones. And that is the challenge for teachers and parents: how to foster a healthy respect for bugs that are unknown while not stifling their curiosity? Like all things in life, even for us adults, we need to balance between the excitement of finding something new and our fear of the unknown.

Collecting things is important for developing a sense of order. So, too, we can collect bugs.
