After starting with spinach ink last week, our students have been hard at work this week, making more ink out of beets, cabbage and onions. Students making paint from yellow onions this morning. Our collection of ink: 3 different kinds of cabbage and spinach!

Spring has sprung
Our playground has evidence that it’s springtime, and it’s time to get to work! The animals are ready to come out to play… The kids have invented their own catapult… The sandbox is full… …and the “train” needs to be fixed!
Mud Box
Last week we unveiled the playground’s newest feature, the Mud Box. Children’s love of digging is part of their connection to Nature. The Mud Box does have an open bottom, so they can dig into the Earth itself–without getting their clothes too dirty.
Germs are Spreading

Yesterday, our little artists learned to make their own ink. With Dorte’s guidance, they make ink out of Spinach and then used it on some art!
“I don’t want to…”
Today in circle, our finger-puppet friends told some stories about things that happened to them recently. Our students can tell you how each of these stories ends… Belinda the Hummingbird didn’t want to get dressed. Anthia the Butterfly didn’t want to go to bed. Ricardo the Bat didn’t want to go home.
Yoga Friday
In today’s meeting our students practiced their yoga, and discussed its benefits. “To breathe” and “to get strong” were some of the students’ reasons as to why we benefit from yoga.
Parent Workshop
Carla’s Yoga workshop has been pushed back one weekend. It will now be held on Saturday, March 29 from 10:30 – 11:30. Childcare will be provided on the playground, starting at 10:15. Lunar New Year
This morning we celebrated the New Year with a Lion Dance, dragons, lanterns and a snack of oranges and dumplings. All of this will to bring us good fortune in this new year, the Year of the Horse.
