Pumpkin Carving

We had so much fun making our Jack-O-Lanterns this morning! It definitely takes a village of varied talents to accomplish carving 7 pumpkins in one morning.

Above all, you need an amazing parent community. Many thanks to the two parents who were able to help. Their patience and organization made it all possible.

It takes teamwork to first choose a design for the face, and an older kiddo to draw the face on the big pumpkin.

Then, we need a strong mom to carve out the top, and show us how to scoop out the “guts.” That’s the fun part! We discovered, that some children are good at scooping with a spoon, and some are happy to stick their hand inside (above) and others are really good at separating out the seeds (left).

When it’s all clean inside, we can get started on the carving the eyes, nose and mouth, while we also choose a special name for each one.

We are happy to introduce to you, below from left to right, Spiderman, Kwazi, Mr Scary, Rilah, Bad Bat and Jack.
