Spooky new materials are on the shelves

We routinely change out the materials on our shelves. With the turn of the calendar and the change in the weather, this weekend the teachers were busy making new works. The children were eager to try out the new materials, including a variety of counting works, coloring calaveras, basting water into pumpkin molds and the ever-popular pumpkin hammering!

After rolling the playdough “really big” (said the 3-year old) children can cut out this fun calavera
cauldron counting
This work requires the older children to first line up the cauldrons in numerical order, then to sort the spooky items by amount.
hammer pumpkin
This morning students received instructions on how to hammer golf tees into pumpkins. This fun work encourages eye-hand coordination and promotes a sense of order.

Autumn even made it to the outdoor art table this morning! Several artists created paintings using leaves from our playground.
