I moved to Austin from Denton, Texas in 2014. While living in Denton, I started working at the Montessori school my daughters went to. As many parents do I fell in love with the Montessori method of teaching. I received my certification from Southwestern Montessori Training Center. I remained in Montessori for eight years.
In 1999, I started working for public schools in special education, and inclusion. After moving to Austin, I am happily back in a wonderful Montessori environment. It is so wonderful to see the joy and wonder on a child’s face when they master a work. I believe they never loose that feeling, but carry it with them to the next, and so gain more confidence as they go. It’s a beautiful thing to see. So working with, and teaching, children has been something I have loved for 34 years.
We have three daughters also living in Austin. At home there is myself, David, one dog, and two cats. In my spare time I love to do yoga and Tai Chi. I also love to read, knit some, and go for walks with Jojo, my little pug mix. David and I do love our Saturday movie night. In early October I plan to begin volunteering at Austin Humane Society with the kitties.
