Placing stars in the sky

Antonia Crook, MA, MFA, LPC Associate

I was born in Tallahassee Fl, and attended the Montessori school that my parents helped found. I kept exploring art and earned my BFA in painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2006). While there, I worked as an illustrator for a startup in online children’s language education.
Later I taught art at a middle school in central Florida until I decided to get my Master’s of Fine Arts at Florida State University (2011). After graduating I taught art and art history on the college level in Tallahassee Florida, Florence Italy, Williamsport Pennsylvania and Vietnam.
In 2016, I moved to Austin to be closer to family. I’ve settled in first as a tour guide at the state capital, then doing after-school art programs with Creative Action and, now, teaching at HMS. In 2023, I completed work for a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seminary of the Southwest.
My past-times include: making and enjoying visual art, jogging around Town Lake and caring for various animals.
